Leaders call on state to protect healthcare in North Country

Labor leader Vernon "Sam" Burns who also serves as the Chairman of the Ogdensburg Bridge and Port Authority spoke at a rally Wednesday at Ogdensburg Free Academy calling on the the state Department of Health to keep labor and delivery services at Ogdensburg's Claxton Hepburn Medical Campus. He was joined by state representatives Sen. Mark Walczyk, left, and Assemblyman Scott Gray, Right. The rally was hosted by the New York State Nurses Association and preceded and official hearing on North Star Health Alliances plan to end multiple services in St. Lawrence County. See story here.
