POTSDAM — A Potsdam man was accused of fleeing police on a motorcycle and is now facing several charges, according to village police.
David F. Phillips, 44, was charged with unlawful fleeing, two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, passing a red light, speeding (60 mph in a 30 mph zone), driving left of pavement markings, operating out of class, uninspected motor vehicle and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, officers said.
Police attempted to stop Phillips on Maple Street that allegedly passed another vehicle in a no pass zone, as well as a red light.
Phillips allegedly fled from police for a short distance before ultimately pulling over for the traffic stop.
He was cited at 11:05 p.m. and released, police said.
