MASSENA – A funeral mass of Christian burial will be held for Katherine A. Foley on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at 12:00 pm at St. Mary’s Church, Massena with Reverand Mark Riley
officiating. Burial will be directly following in St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Brasher Falls, NY.

Friends and family may call from 9:00 am to 11:00 am on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at Frary Funeral Home, located at 60 Maple Street, Massena. Katherine passed away Saturday, August 31, 2024 with her loving family by her side, at
Hildebrandt Hospice Care Center in Rochester, NY where she received tender and loving end of life care.

She was born on December 27, 1929 in Massena, the youngest child, to Francis and Ida (McDonald) Burns. Upon the tragic death of her mother when Katherine was only one-year old,
she was raised by her paternal Aunt and Uncle, Anna and John P. Cusick in Syracuse, NY.

She spent the first 30 years of her life with her aunt and uncle, gratefully accepting much love and attention. Katherine attended schools in Syracuse, including Culver Beauty Academy where she graduated in 1948.

She worked as a beautician in several salons in the downtown area of Syracuse until 1960. On September 5, 1960, she married Dennis W. Foley of Helena, at St. Anthony of Padua Church
in Syracuse.

Katherine and Dennis were both devout Catholics, and together raised their four children in Christian faith. Katherine was known for her sense of beauty and style. She was a fierce advocate for her children and their education.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She maintained close relationships with her many nieces and nephews.

Four children survive Katherine: Dennis and Rita Foley of Weaverville, NC, Maureen and Mark LaGrow of Massena, Colleen Goff of St. Croix US Virgin Islands, and Timothy and Melissa
Foley of Greenbrier, TN. Eight grandchildren; Brenton LaGrow and his fiancé Jessica Thompson, Katherine Peown, Patrick and Michaela LaGrow, Shannon Foley, Keegan Foley, Connor Foley, Ryan Foley and his fiancé Haley Helton, and Daniel Foley. Five adoring great-grandchildren; Liam LaGrow, Robbie Peown, Poppy Peown, Callahan LaGrow, and Brendan Stowell.

She is predeceased by her husband, Dennis; five brothers; Francis, Kenneth, Harold, Gerald, and Bernard Burns, one sister; Myrtle Decker.
