Three Potsdam residents face drug charges after search warrant executed

POTSDAM – Three people are facing drug-related charges following the execution of a search warrant Thursday evening in the village of Potsdam.

Potsdam Police Department, assisted by the Saint Lawrence County Sheriff's Office, New York State Police, United States Border Patrol and Homeland Security Investigations, executed a search warrant on Market Street as part of an ongoing investigation into the distribution of narcotics in the Potsdam area.

Laura C. Coronell, 30, Potsdam, was found to be in possession of a small quantity of cocaine and approximately 60 grams of MDA as well as gelatin capsules, packaging material and scales.

Coronell was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance 2nd degree (A-II Felony), criminal possession of a controlled substance 3rd degree (B Felony) and one count of criminally using drug paraphernalia 2nd degree (A Misdemeanor).

Coronell was arraigned in Town of Potsdam Court and remanded without bail to St Lawrence County Correctional Facility.

Chester Olmstead, 26, and Autumn Marashian, 22, both of Potsdam, were found to be in possession of a small quantity of cocaine, 49 oxycodone tablets, packaging material and scales.

Olmstead was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance 3rd degree (B Felony), Criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th degree (A Misdemeanor) and one count of criminally using drug paraphernalia 2nd degree (A Misdemeanor). Olmstead was arraigned in Town of Potsdam Court and was released on his own recognizance.

Marashian was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance 3rd degree (B Felony), and criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th degree (A Misdemeanor).

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are pending.
