Three area high school seniors who will be attending college in St. Lawrence County have received $500 scholarships from North Country This Week.
They are Lola Buckley of Potsdam Central, Logan Clark of Norwood-Norfolk and Brandon O’Shea of Canton Central.
Buckley is the daughter of Brenda and Robert Moulton of Potsdam and plans to attend St. Lawrence University to major in English and education, and participate in track and field.
While in high school, she was a member of the soccer team, as well as the indoor and outdoor track and field teams. She was a member of the National Honor Society.
She worked at the Red Pinecone, Jreck Subs and Kinney Drugs.
O’Shea is the son of Gwen O’Shea and Michael Pinckney. He plans to attend SUNY Canton to study Criminal Justice.
While in high school, he was a member of the football and hockey teams. He also was a student leader in his Criminal Justice program at BOCES.
Clark is the son of Lacey and Branden Clark, and plans to attend SUNY Canton to major in Criminal Justice. He graduated with a Regents diploma with a Technical Endorsement this June and excelled in the Natural Resource Management program at Seaway Technical Education Center for the past two years.
Outside of the classroom, Clark works at Sabad’s Restaurant as a dishwasher.
