Mary Elizabeth Hamilton, 52, Massena

MASSENA – Mary Elizabeth Hamilton, 52, passed away unexpectedly.

Mary is predeceased by her parents, Daniel and Sheila (O’Toole) Hamilton as well as her beloved brother William Hamilton and uncle, Peter O’Toole.

Mary was born November 21, 1971, in Rochester, NY. Mary was a graduate of Massena High School and earned a Cosmetology Certificate in Rochester, NY.

She also earned an Associate Degree from SUNY Canton and a Bachelor’s Degree from SUNY Potsdam.

Mary enjoyed reading and loved watching old movies. She loved traveling with her mother to Florida and an occasional trip to the casinos. Mary was an animal lover and was very attached to her dog, Hercules.

Mary is survived by her aunts, Virginia (Joseph) Hammill, Barbara Persia (Gerald Bucklin), Patricia (Dr. David) Hicks, Deirdre (David) Balestiere and Margaret (Anthony) Palozzi; an uncle, Michael (Denise) O’Toole; and many cousins.

A Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 PM on Thursday, June 20, 2024, at St. Mary’s Church in Massena. Burial will follow in the family plot at Nevins Cemetery, Massena. There will be no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing may consider memorial donations to be made to the local animal shelter.
