POTSDAM — A man was charged with driving while intoxicated after allegedly driving on a sidewalk on Elm Street, according to village police.
Patrick A. Murphy, 49, Braintree, Mass., was charged with first-offense DWI, driving on a sidewalk, failure to stop at a stop sign, and two counts of improper turn without a signal, police said.
Murphy was allegedly observed failing to signal for turns onto Waverly and Munson streets, and then driving onto a sidewalk on Elm Street.
Police said Murphy showed signs of impairment, but refused to provide a breath test to determine his blood-alcohol content (BAC).
He was issued tickets and released, police said.
