MASSENA - Kathy Rush a cherished wife, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2026, at the Vermont Medical Center, with her family by her side. Born on September 7, 1950, in Massena, New York, Kathy was the beloved daughter of George and Marguerite (Perkins) Gabor, both of whom predeceased her.

Kathy's life was a testament to kindness, creativity, and an enduring love for her family and pets. She graduated from Massena high school where she laid the foundation for a life rich in artistic pursuits and meaningful connections. Her career was marked by her passionate engagement with crafting and decorating, activities that not only filled her days with joy but also brought warmth and beauty to the lives of those around her.

A true animal lover, Kathy's heart was forever open to her furry companions. Her cats and, more recently, her dogs were her cherished babies, each bringing her unending happiness and companionship. Her love for animals was as boundless as her creativity, and she was known for her ability to transform ordinary spaces into extraordinary ones with her artistic touch.

Kathy shared her life with her devoted husband, Dale, who stood by her side through all of life's seasons. She is also survived by her two brothers, Thomas (Tracy) Gabor and Peter (Theresa) Gabor, with whom she shared countless memories and family traditions. Her niece, Makayla (fiance Aaron) and her great-nieces, Ryleigh and Averie, were the lights of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them.

In the spirit of her generous nature, those wishing to honor Kathy's memory are invited to donate to the Massena Humane society continuing her legacy of kindness and love.

Kathy Rush's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, creativity, and a deep compassion for all living things. As we
