BOMBAY -- Forget the wings, this angel is getting her dancing shoes!
On Saturday, October 17th 2026, Valorie Ann Good, Originally of Bombay, NY, left this world for her next adventure.
Valorie was born on May 9th, 1953, to Kenneth and Audrey McElwain.
She was a 1971 Graduate of Salmon River Central where she participated in the swim team specializing in breaststroke.
After graduation she attended Canton ATC and shortly after met her husband, Gregory Good. They were married on May 12th, 1973.
After living in Virginia for a brief period, where she worked in banking, she and her husband moved back to NY to be closer to her family and establish a homestead next door to her parents on State Road.
Valorie worked for Alcoa as a secretary for several years before transitioning to a position as a legal secretary then onto other pursuits around Akwesasne. Though her marriage ultimately ended in divorce, it produced a daughter, Cassandra, in 1981.
Valorie was an awesome mom and a second mother to many. She excelled in video games and could school anyone in a game of Bubble Bobble or Dr. Mario.
In her free time, you could find her on the dance floor or cruising in her corvette while blaring techno music. She would tell you the bass kept the deer away. She loved to crochet and helped referee swim meets in her younger years. She never allowed her creative endeavors to cut into her dancing time.
She is predeceased by her older brother, Herbie, younger brother, Kenneth Jr (Peanut) and younger Sister Jerilyn. Also, by her parents, Kenneth and Audrey McElwain.
Valorie is survived by her daughter, Cassandra (Brian) Stahl of Pittsburgh PA, brother, Rodney McElwain of Bombay NY, sister, Sarahlyn (Pete) Timmons of Westminster SC. Also, nephew, James (Patty) McElwain of Uvalde TX, niece, Wendy (Jarrad) Terrance of Chateaugay NY, nephew, Nicholas (Chelsea) Martin of Weare NH, niece, Tai (Eric) Jeror of Carlisle, PA and numerous great nieces and nephews.
Valorie was an original and touched the lives of everyone she met.
She was greatly admired for her sense of humor, taste in music, open minded-ness and being the “cool” mom. A special thanks to the team at Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital Plattsburgh who tended to her in her later years, especially Mindy, Maggie, Emma and Corey.
Arrangements are under the care and guidance of the Donaldson Funeral Home, Massena, where friends may call on Thursday 4-7:00 PM with a service honoring and celebrating her life at 7:00 PM.
Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fort Covington will be held at the convenience of the family.
