OGDENSBURG -- A Heuvelton woman was accused of having sexual relations and supplying drugs to inmates at Riverview Correctional Facility, according to state police.
Melissa Dixon, 30, was charged with first-degree promoting prison contraband, two counts of third-degree rape, third-degree criminal sex act, third-degree bribe receiving and official misconduct, officers said.
Troopers said they received the complaint on May 22 by NYS Department of Corrections and Community Supervision Office of Special Investigations.
A preliminary investigation reportedly determined Dixon, a Correction Officer at Riverview Correctional facility, was accepting money to provide drug paraphernalia and weapons to incarcerated individuals.
Further investigation determined Dixon was also having sex with inmates while she was working.
Dixon was arraigned in City of Ogdensburg Court, where she was released on her own recognizance, officers said.
Dixon is reportedly no longer employed by DOCCS.
