MASSENA – SeaComm, in partnership with the St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department and the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation, will host two free Fraud and Identity Theft educational presentations on Wednesday, October 7, which will be open to the public.
The sessions will feature former United States Secret Service Special Agent Sean Donlon, who will share practical guidance to help individuals recognize scams, protect personal information, and reduce the risk of becoming victims of fraud.
Donlon will discuss how fraud schemes are evolving, warning signs of scams, and steps that people can take to safeguard their money, accounts, and personal information. Attendees are encouraged to bring questions and learn from Donlon’s 24 years of federal law enforcement experience investigating financial crimes, fraud, identity theft, cyber-enabled crime, and scams.
The sessions will be offered on Wednesday, October 7 at the Massena Community Center, 61 Beach Street. Guests can attend either session, which will be held from 2 to 4 p.m., and then again from 6 to 8 p.m. They are free and open to the public, and no pre-registration is required.
