POTSDAM —Nineteen startup businesses, selling food, drinks, and crafts, were launched by kids in downtown Potsdam.

Potsdam’s first Kidpreneurs Marketplace was a vendor style craft fair to give young entrepreneurs a chance to create their own businesses.

“What an absolute blast our first Kidpreneurs Marketplace was. We had 24 eager 5-15 year olds bring their passion, excitement, and businesses to the community,” said organizer Brittany Krawczyk.

Businesses sold veggies, eggs, maple syrup, baked goods, candy, cotton candy, popcorn, boba tea, fresh lemonade, gnome crafts, crocheted and stitched items, photography pics of Potsdam & nature, fishing lure creations, earrings and keychains, pokémon cards, paintings, stickers, crunchies, stuffies, necklaces, rings, bracelets and phone charms.

Due to rain Aug. 17, the market was located at 29 Market Street, rather than along Market Street sidewalks as planned.

“Thank you to all our sponsors; Acton Childrens Fair, Mama & Me Creations, DillaboughDesigns & Kids Finds, Ellie K Apparel, Brick & Mortar, Winky's Salts, Darla Conyea, Four Acre Flowers, and Tri-Town Kids,” said Krawczyk.

“Thanks also to all the community support we received for this event: Potsdam Chamber of Commerce, B99.3, NCPR, and NorthCountryNow. And thanks to all the wonderful people who came out and shopped with the kids! You made their day,” she said.

The event was hosted by Second Glance, Consignment and Boutique Store.

“We will absolutely do another Kidpreneurs Marketplace next summer, and hopefully also this fall,” said Krawczyk.
