OGDENSBURG -- Funeral services for Donald T. Joanette, 84, of Ogdensburg will be private.
Mr. Joanette died on Thursday evening, April 18, 2024, at Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center in Ogdensburg, surrounded by his family, following a long illness.
Arrangements are under the direction of Frary Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
Donald T. Joanette was born on January 21, 1940, in Ogdensburg, NY.
He was the son of the late Joseph Alber and Ruth (LeBeau) Joanette.
He attended Ogdensburg Free Academy.
On June 27, 1964 he married Rosemary McCabe at St. Mary’s Cathedral.
He worked construction as a Heavy Equipment Operator for Barrett Paving until his retirement.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing, playing cards with his friends, most of all he loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Rosemary Joanette; his children, Amy York of Ogdensburg, Lynn Herbick of Ogdensburg, Mark and Tammy Joanette of Florida, and Troy and Susan Joanette of Ogdensburg. His grandchildren, Destiny Sias, Brooke Bowers, Brittni Cagle, Hunter Joanette, Trenton Joanette, Katelyn Knowlton, Samantha Tyo and Samantha Herbick survive him along with 18 great-grandchildren. He is survived by his siblings, Anthony Joanette, Linda Fortin, Sue Green, Bonita Moro, and Carol Vielhauer.
He was predeceased by his brothers; George and Raymond Joanette and his sisters; Mary LaRose, Alma White, Ann White, Jane Montroy and Sheila Ormsbee.
