Brenda MacPherson, 71, Massena

MASSENA- Brenda MacPherson, 71, formerly of Massena, peacefully passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2024 at St. Joseph’s Home in Ogdensburg.
Brenda was born on February 14, 1953 in Massena, daughter of the late Ernest and Ethel (Leggue) Rusaw. She was raised by her grandparents Martha and Louis Rusaw on Grant Street.
Brenda attended Massena Schools and married Doug MacPherson on June 21, 2003. Doug predeceased her on February 2, 2019. She worked for Seaway Industries retiring after 30 years, and also worked at the Long Shop - OTB.
Brenda loved listening to music and playing bingo and other games on her tablet. She was a huge hockey fan, especially her beloved Montreal Canadiens. She enjoyed trips to the Casino and going out for dinner. Brenda had an infectious smile that lit up any room she entered.
Brenda is survived by her siblings Patricia (Brian Kirkey) Woodward of Potsdam; Linda (Brian) Barry of CA; Martha Rusaw-Abbrecht of MS; Bill Rusaw of Norfolk; and Gordon (Debbie) Rusaw of CA; and her many loving and adoring nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents Ernest and Ethel, her husband Doug, her brother Ernie Rusaw, sister-in-law Joan Rusaw brother-in-law Albert Woodward.
A graveside service will be held at Pine Grove Cemetery Area #2 at a future date.
In lieu of flowers, friends may make memorial donations to St. John’s Episcopal Church, Massena.
