Boating safety class offered by United States Coast Guard Auxiliary in Hammond Aug. 13-14

HAMMOND – The United States Coast Guard Auxiliary announces registration is now open for the Hammond boating safety class, “Boat America” Aug. 13-14, from 5-9 p.m. at the Hammond Central School.  

As of January 1, 2025, all operators of motorized vessels, regardless of age, will need a boater safety certificate before operating their vessel.  

All “jet ski” operators regardless of age must take a boating safety course and be a minimum of 14 years old.  “Boat America” fulfills this requirement.

Pre-registration is required and closes Aug. 12.  

Tuition is $35 per person with family rates and youth scholarships available.
