MASSENA - Alpha is an opportunity to explore life and the Christian faith in a friendly, open and informal environment. Open to anyone who is searching for meaning and asking the big questions in life, It is non-denominational and free of charge, however registration is requested, either prior to or at the first session. Developed as a short course in England, it was found that many people outside of the church wanted to explore the Christian faith. Alpha now often runs in churches, bars, coffee shops and homes all around the globe. Typically, there are around eleven sessions that include food, a short talk and a discussion period where you can share your thoughts in a small group. It is a safe place where everyone is welcome regardless of faith or background, exploring the big questions without fear of judgement. Sylvie Marion, a member of the Alpha team since its initial launch in Massena said, “We’re really excited to be offering the Alpha series again. This is our 13th session in the last 6 years, and it’s been a life-changing experience for many of our participants.” The series runs on Tuesday evenings from 6:00 to 8:30 pm starting September 10th at St. Mary’s Social Hall, 7 Sycamore Street in Massena. Child care will be provided for young families. For more information or to register, visit https://massenacatholics.com/alpha, or contact Sylvie Marion at (315) 769-2469.
