Beverly J. Lewis, 83, Hammond

Beverly J. Lewis, age 83 of State Hwy 37 passed away at her home on Friday Sept 20, 2024. As per her request there will be no public funeral services.

Surviving is her daughter Teri Perretta & her husband Michael of Rensselaer Falls; a granddaughter Jessica Lewis of Connecticut; daughter-in-law Debbie Ritz Lewis & her son Coty Rooze (Clyde); Brother-in-laws Bill Lewis of Denver and Gary Robinson of Walworth; a special cousin Joel Comfort & his wife Gibby of Oneida; along with nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband Preston Lewis in 2016; a son David Lewis in 2024; and a sister Cheryl Robinson in 2014.

Beverly was born on May 19, 1941 in Rome, a daughter of the late Dr. William & Swanannoa (Robinson) Rueckwald. She graduated from Carthage Central High School and attended SUNY Brockport for her education. She was later married to Preston E. Lewis on Dec 19, 1959.

During her career she worked for the Jefferson County ARC as a water therapist and the Turning Stone Casino as a card dealer. She retired in 2003. Beverly was a member of the Order of Eastern Stars Hammond Chapter and enjoyed dancing, watersports, knitting, traveling, hunting and fishing with her father and spending time at her camp on the river and with her family.
