POTSDAM -- Clarkson University Assistant Professor of Computer Science, Yaoqing Liu has received over $200,000 in research awards from multiple agencies, such as NSF/CITeR, Comcast, and the Air Force Research Lab in the past year. The most recent one that has been approved is from Precision Optical Transceivers, founded by Clarkson Alumni and located in Rochester area.

Dr. Yaoqing Liu’s research Interests include networked systems (security, routing, protocol, algorithms and measurement), Future Internet Architectures (Named Data Networking), and Blockchain Technologies. One of his research projects has been selected as the 2018 TechConnect Defense Innovation Award, concentrating on flexibly and securely transferring information flow among multiple heterogeneous wireless links, such as WiFi, LoRa, etc., with minimal overhead, based on Named Data Networking (NDN) architecture, one of the emerging Future Internet Architectures. Another research project focuses on enabling identity assurance and anti-spoofing capabilities for non-person entities in a mobile mesh network via an information-centric approach. A third ongoing project aims to build a secure, privacy preserving and self-sovereign identity management framework based on the state-of-the-art Blockchain and biometrics identification technologies.
