CANTON – On a recent summer weekend, members of the Zonta Club of Canton (ZCOC) took on the task of cooking hot dogs for shoppers at Coakley’s Home and Hardware in Canton with a special purpose in mind. All funds collected that day were presented to three young women at Renewal House in memory of long-time executive director Ilene Burke who recently passed away.
Club members were pleased to donate $500 to the local shelter, a safe place for persons experiencing domestic violence.
The Zonta Club of Canton thanks the folks at Coakley’s for their strong community spirit and willingness to offer fundraising opportunities for local organizations who also do good things for their communities.
