St. Lawrence County has played host to many fishing tournaments this summer and plans are to continue that in future years. Supporters say the tourneys provide an economic boost and give an entertainment option to local residents. Those opposed say the increased number of boats on the water is bad for the environment and can be disruptive to life on the water.
