Couple contributes $25,000 to Potsdam Humane Society

POTSDAM – Cookie Rhall, a Potsdam Humane Society board member, and her husband Jim Staples, presented a $25,000 gift to the Potsdam Humane Society board of directors at their July meeting. The gift was a wonderful surprise just when the group was discussing how hard it is to make ends meet during the summer months.

"We aren't from around here, but have made our home here now for the past 15 years. We love the North Country and are committed to keeping donating local and always paying it forward for our remaining days. We have been wanting to give back locally where we could actually see our money at work." said Cookie to the members.

“We were getting ready to support PHS with some cash, and then saw that Kenya, a dog living at the shelter for over 3 years, got adopted. It hit home that the Potsdam Humane Society really strives to be a "no kill" shelter. Kenya added dollars to the check we wrote,” stated Jim.

The Potsdam Humane Society thanks "Cookie" (Nonna) Rhall and Jim Staples for this very special, much needed mid-year gift.
