OGDENSBURG – A vehicle-pedestrian accident killed a woman on the 300 block of Ford Street Wednesday at 2:26 p.m., according to city police.
Police say the woman was struck by a commercial vehicle and that life saving measures were immediately attempted on scene by “good samaritans and first responders.”
“Unfortunately, the victim was pronounced deceased on scene. The victim’s name will not be released at this time as next of kin has not yet been notified,” a release from city police said.
The name of the driver was not provided and no charges were listed at this time.
The investigation remains ongoing, with the assistance of the New York State Police Crash Reconstruction Unit.
The Ogdensburg Police Department responded to the scene with the Ogdensburg Fire Department and Ogdensburg Volunteer Rescue Squad. The St. Lawrence County Sheriff's Office assisted on scene.
