No concerns about what's right for our future

If you are like me, and cling to a belief in the future, you probably stayed up last night to watch the debate. There persists in this country a dream that our democracy will always proceed, ever upward toward a brighter future. I fear those days have passed. We were treated to the spectacle of two old men battering each other with their canes. One old man, doddering-but-well-meaning, the other an angry, raving, wanna-be tyrant, bent on revenge, neither with anything new to say. If this is what our great democracy has come to...If this is what our electoral system offers us...then we are almost done. The end-times must truly be upon us.

Of course we should have known that when Trump was elected 8 years ago. A nation that elects a lying, cheating, raping, fake millionaire to be President has certainly lost its way. The Parties that presented these two are clearly mired in corruption or hatred, and don't give a damn about what's right for our future. The truth is that neither one of them even wants to be President, and that the voters feel the same way. Picking the lesser of two bad choices is a sad state to be in. We should boycott this next election, but we will not because we fear the worst.

So if you're tired of striving to do the right thing. If you're sick of this system and have lost all hope, then let's just elect the Great Liar and get it over with. Let’s chop every tree, and burn every drop of oil. Let's rape and pillage the land until not a single creature larger than a rat remains. A lake of fire awaits us.
