BRASHER – Two Winthrop men face multiple drug-related charges following a traffic stop in the Town of Brasher early Monday morning.
Troop B- Violent Gangs and Narcotics Enforcement Team charged Bryan I. Hartson, 53, and Timothy R. Kerrick, 35, with numerous counts related to a traffic stop by New York State Troopers at approximately 1:55 a.m. on State Route 11C for a loud exhaust. During the traffic stop, numerous amounts of narcotic drugs were located in the vehicle, including approximately 1.3 ounces of cocaine, 15 grams of MDMA, and numerous pills of several different types.
Kerrick was charged with 5 counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd (B-Felonies), 6 counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th (A-Misdemeanors), Resisting Arrest (A-Misdemeanor), and Obstructing Governmental Administration 2nd (A-Misdemeanor).
Hartson was charged with 4 counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd (B-Felonies), 6 counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th (A-Misdemeanors), and a traffic ticket for loud exhaust.
Kerrick and Hartson were both arraigned in the Town of Stockholm Court. Hartson was released on his own recognizance, while Kerrick was remanded to St. Lawrence County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash.
