Two new doctors join Ogdensburg hospital

OGDENSBURG -- Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center is adding a family practice physician and an orthopedic surgeon to their staff.

He spent the next two years as the officer-in-charge of a military clinic in Germany before returning stateside to complete residency training in Orthopedic Surgery at Brooke Army Medical Center, Fort Sam Houston, Texas. Dr. Smith is board certified in orthopedic surgery and is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. He is also a consultant to the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Lake Placid and a volunteer "ski doc" at Whiteface Mountain. He is a past medical director for Ironman USA Lake Placid's annual Ironman Triathlon.

Board-certified family practice physician, Dr. John Duffy will begin seeing patients at the CHMC Canton Health Center beginning August 3, 2020.

He completed his medical training at Ross University School of Medicine in New York City, as well as a residency through Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. In addition to his training in family medicine, Dr. Duffy also trained at the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic, receiving his doctorate. “This dual background allows Dr. Duffy to approach treatment in a more holistic and individualized way,” CHMC said.
