“This is a distinct and admirable honor bestowed only on a few clerks of the 933 towns throughout New York State”, Karen Sweeting, secretary of the New York Town Clerks Association said in a letter to Town Supervisor Mary Ann Ashley. In her leadership position, Mrs. Smith will mentor clerks and be a liaison between the Counties of Clinton, Essex, Franklin, St. Lawrence, and the State Association.
Smith will represent District Nine, with her term running until June 30, 2024.
