Congresswoman Elise Stefanik has been awarded the American Farm Bureau Federation (AFBF)’s “Friend of Farm Bureau” award recognizing successes in elevating the needs of farmers to the highest levels of government.

The American Farm Bureau Federation gives the award to members of Congress who were nominated by their respective state Farm Bureaus and approved by the AFBF Board of Directors.

“Elise Stefanik is a tireless advocate for farmers in the North Country, who are an essential part of our state’s economy and culture,” said Madrid farmer and New York Farm Bureau President David Fisher. “Her leadership on key agricultural issues like labor, trade and government regulation speaks for itself. These accomplishments make her a deserving recipient of the American Farm Bureau Federation's Friend of Farm Bureau Award.”

“I am honored to receive the Friend of Farm Bureau Award in recognition of my advocacy for the essential needs of our incredibly hard working farmers, growers, and producers in Upstate New York and the North Country,” said Stefanik.

“This Congress, I voted to pass the Whole Milk for Healthy Kids Act in the House to ensure our children have access to flavored and unflavored whole milk in school, countered Joe Biden’s restrictions on WIC families’ access to nutritional milk and dairy products by introducing the Protecting Mothers and Infants’ Access to Milk Act, and protected egg producers and the quality of their products by combating the unfair practice of mislabeled imitation egg products using the term “egg” on their product labels with my bill, the Consistent Egg Labels Act. I will proudly continue working on behalf of our Upstate New York and North Country farmers who are the backbone of our communities,” she continued.
