To the Editor:
I’m writing this letter in support of Rick Perkins for county Legislator District 7.
I’ve known Rick for many years and I have had a great working relationship with him for the nearly 12 years he has been on the board. Rick has always been very responsive whenever I have needed his assistance over the years.
Rick attends all of our town board meetings and keeps us all informed of issues going on at the County level. I know when Rick first went into office the county faced a negative three million dollar fund balance. Through several years of wise spending, years of wise spending changes Rick as well as many other common sense legislators worked together they were able to lower the county tax rate to the lowest level it has been since the early 1980s.
I know Rick is an avid supporter of the multi-use trail, and also an avid hunter and outdoorsman. Rick’s proven personal values align perfectly with my own way of living. I know Rick has and will always stand up for what he believes in. I have never been one to fall for somebody making me open ended promises but instead I will judge by a proven track record. Don’t fall for a smoke and mirrors show join me on November 3rd to re-elect the true candidate that will stand up for us all.
