MASSENA — The state is giving Massena International Airport $100,000 toward the purchase of a mower and a plow truck.
Massena airport, the only St. Lawrence County airport to receive a portion of the funding, will use the funding specifically to buy a batwing trailed mower and a snow removal support vehicle consisting of a commercial grade pick-up truck with material spreader and plow blades.
The money is part of $7.7 million allocated to North Country airports from a $49 million dole from the state’s Aviation Capital Grant Program to help fund strategic infrastructure enhancements at 36 airports around the state.
The projects funded by the program consist of construction and rehabilitation of new and existing hangars, electrification and carbon reduction programs, new and upgraded snow removal equipment, and updated security systems.
