CANTON – A St. Lawrence University student was on a team that won gold in the Paralympic Winter Games Beijing 2022.
Sophomore Sydney Peterson won Team USA mixed relay cross-country competition, along with Oksana Masters, Dan Cnossen and Jake Adicoff, guided by Sam Wood. They stormed the 4x2.5-kilometer mixed relay to a 25:59.3 gold-medal finish.
"It's pretty amazing, I've got a great team out there today. I'm super excited. Everyone stepped up and really skied so fast. I never expected to bring home a medal and to do it now as a team is even better,” said Peterson after the win.
