Sharlyn A. Crump, 91, North Lawrence

NORTH LAWRENCE -- In loving memory of Sharlyn A. Crump.

Sharlyn passed away under the care of hospice with all her family wrapped around her side in her home on May 5, 2024.

Arrangements are entrusted to Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop where visitation will be Thursday May 9th from 5 – 8 PM.

Sharlyn’s funeral service and Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday May 10th at 11:00 AM at the Church of the Holy Cross in Hopkinton and she will be laid to rest beside her loving husband, Frederick at St. Lawrence Cemetery in North Lawrence.

Sharlyn was born on March 26, 1933, in Brushton, daughter of the late Sherbin and Zita (Collette) Tougas.

She attended school in Brushton and at one time she was married to Danny Jacques. She married Frederick “Sonny” Crump on October 7, 1957, in Potsdam.

She was a homemaker and worked on her and Sonny’s farm for many years. She enjoyed making her famous donuts, working in her garden, and caring for many families.

She was a hard worker and a strong-willed woman who will be missed by many.

Sharlyn is survived by her three children, Jean Crump, Timothy Crump and Christine Johnston and Steven and Leanne Crump, all of North Lawrence; 10 grandchildren and spouses; 11 great grandchildren; her sister, Janetta “Jan” Spanbaur of Massena; her sister by heart, Aunt Edna Goodrich; two sisters -in-law, Anne Tougas and Margaret Tougas both of Rochester and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Besides her parents and husband, Sharlyn was predeceased by her sister, Beverly Henderson; brothers, Elwood, Bruce, Wayne, and Douglas Tougas.

In keeping with Sharlyn’s wishes flowers are respectfully declined and memorial contributions can be made to Church of the Holy Cross, Tri-Town Rescue Squad, Fire Departments in the Tri- Town area, and to Hospice and Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley Inc.

Sharlyn was a beautiful soul that so many loved and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
