A mockery of the American EV industry

From May 11 New York Times.

“The administration could raise tariffs on electric vehicles from China to 100 percent in an attempt to protect American auto manufacturers.”

This is so sad. While the Chinese government subsidizes its EV industry, the Biden administration allows our auto industry to make a mockery of EVs despite the Inflation Reduction Act pumping billions into green energy.

Not one of our auto companies makes an affordable EV. GM cancels the Bolt? Instead promotes a nearly $100,000 pickup truck?

There’s no EV available from a US manufacturer under $40,000. That’s ridiculous. Of the ten cheapest EVs available here, only one, a Ford Mustang, is made by a US based company.  Is the Mustang a family car?

Having our market flooded with cheap Chinese EVs might get our own automobile companies to pay attention.

Yet the Biden administration does nothing but protect them. Sad.
