North Country This Week
POTSDAM — Rustic Trout Antiques is now open at 32 Market St.
The business is located in the former Argents space.
Owner Ray Bartholomew purchased the inventory from Argents and added his own to create what he calls an “eclectic mix” of gift ideas for everyone.
In his store you might find vintage LPs, small furniture, local bottles, snowshoes, jewelry, fishing gear, home decor, postcards, framed art and more. All of which, of course, are old.
Bartholomew spent decades collecting antiques and other goods from auctions and yard sales, and now has a storefront to showcase his collection.
“Business has been good,” he said.
In addition to selling, he buys antiques as well.
Contact him directly to schedule an appointment.
Bartholomew, who is now retired, spent most of his working life in food service.
He runs the shop with some help from his wife Jackie, who is expected to retire soon.
The store is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesdays and Thursdays, and open noon to 6 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
