Rain, higher elevation snow, cool temps expected through mid-week in St. Lawrence County

A deepening trough of low pressure will bring periods of valley rain and higher elevation snowfall to the St. Lawrence Valley through Wednesday, along with unseasonably cool temperatures, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

High temps today will be around 44 with winds 8-11 mph, the service says. Overnight the low will be around d 34.

High pressure, sunnier skies and much warmer temperatures return for the end of the week and through the weekend, NWS says.

Wednesday

A slight chance of rain and snow showers before 9am, then a slight chance of rain showers between 9am and 1pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 46. Northwest wind around 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Areas of frost after 3am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 30. Southwest wind 3 to 6 mph.

Areas of frost before 9am. Otherwise, sunny, with a high near 55. Southwest wind 3 to 7 mph.
