Patchy smoke and haze is expected across the North Country today and tonight due to Canadian wildfires, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
Forecasters predict a high today around 76 with light winds. Overnight the low will drop to around 53.
More haze is possible Monday in St. Lawrence County, the service says.
Dry weather is expected to continue through much of the upcoming week with temperatures warming a bit each day through midweek where
record high temperatures continue to look likely at several locations, NWS says.
The extended forecast through next Saturday is as follows:
Monday
Widespread haze before 11am. Mostly sunny, with a high near 77. Calm wind becoming west around 5 mph in the afternoon.
Monday Night
Partly cloudy, with a low around 58. Southwest wind 6 to 9 mph.
Tuesday
Sunny, with a high near 81. Southwest wind 5 to 7 mph.
Tuesday Night
Mostly clear, with a low around 58. South wind 3 to 5 mph.
Wednesday
Sunny, with a high near 83. South wind 3 to 6 mph.
Wednesday Night
Mostly clear, with a low around 64. South wind around 5 mph.
Thursday
Mostly sunny, with a high near 80. South wind 7 to 10 mph.
Thursday Night
A 30 percent chance of showers after 3am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 61. South wind around 11 mph.
Friday
A 40 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 71. South wind around 14 mph.
