This was the club’s Year 5 donation for their Breast Board Pledge. The Zonta Club of Ogdensburg pledged $5,000 (5 Years of $1,000) to the Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center Foundation towards the purchase of breast boards in 2019.
Breast boards are an important tool for improving radiation treatment outcomes for breast cancer patients. The use of a breast board allows caregivers to position the patient in a way that allows for optimal access to affected tissues and lessens the effects of radiation on healthy breast tissues when undergoing radiation treatments.
