POTSDAM — Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley will host a six-week grief support group in Potsdam to help adults cope with loss during the holiday season.
The group, Navigating Grief Together, is open to adults grieving any kind of loss and may be especially helpful for those whose loss occurred at least three months ago. Participants will learn about grief, share experiences and offer mutual support.
Weekly topics will include how grief can affect the body and emotions, healthy coping strategies, and ways to maintain a positive connection with the person who has died.
Organizers note that the sessions are not therapy, but a social support group for adults who are already processing their grief.
Meetings will be held in person on Tuesdays from noon to 1 p.m., beginning Nov. 11, at the Hospice Administrative Offices, 6805 U.S. Route 11, Potsdam.
For more information, call the Community Grief Program at 315-265-3105.
