Motorcycle fans won't want to miss the Antique Motorcycle Club of America event being held in Whitaker Park in Waddington from June 21 to 23.

The Can-Am River Chapter National Meet is a three-day event that will feature dozens of antique motorcycles and accessories on display, vendor sales and bike judging.

This is the second consecutive year the event will be held in Waddington's Whitaker Park, following a strong showing that saw hundreds visit to see the unique display of motorcycles.

Village officials say the event will draw numerous vendors and quests from all across the United States and Canada.

The Can-Am Chapter of the AMCA boasts International membership from both sides of the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence River from northern New York, central New York, Ontario and Quebec, officials said.

Founded in 1954, the Antique Motorcycle Club of America came together when a group of antique bike fans in the New England area came together in their shared appreciation for the bikes.

The first National Meet in New York was held in Fishkill in 1955.

Over the next few decades, multiple events were also held in Schenectady, Brookfield, Lake Canandaigua and Trumansburg.

"In the decades since, the AMCA has grown to become one of the largest organizations of antique motorcycle enthusiasts in the world, with over 13,000 members worldwide," officials said.

A vendor area will be set up in the park for more than 80 vendors who will be selling motorcycles, related parts and antiques.

As for what will be sold, officials said the smallest parts to whole motorcycles will be available at the event.

In order to qualify, parts and bikes must be at least 35 years old.

There will be more than just vendor sales though, as the event will also feature the AMCA's National Judging Program.

Member's motorcycles can win awards in three categories as part of the judging program, including restore, original condition and period modified.

"Instead of competing against each other, bikes entered in the AMCA Judging Program are evaluated on a 100-point scale against the standard of the same motorcycle as it would have appeared when it originally left the factory," officials said.

To top things off, the Can-Am Chapter is also sponsoring a ride for AMCA members along the St. Lawrence River during the weekend's festivities.
