MASSENA – Over 500 meals were served at the Massena Rotary Club’s annual pancake breakfast April 2. The fundraiser was held as a drive-thru at the First United Methodist Church.
The event raised $5,810, with additional donations and the sale of 92 packages of homemade donuts.
“The funds raised will be used to give back to the community,” said Gail Schneider, Treasurer of Massena Rotary.
“The money will go to food banks: Meals on Wheels, Salvation Army, Neighborhood Center and St. Peter’s Outreach. Plus it funds four high school senior scholarships of $500 each,” she said. Massena Rotary also helps fund the High School Academic Assembly, Massena Hospital Foundation, Back the Pack, Massena Library, Music Friends, Massena Health Clinic, Rotary International Service, and other community project as they arise, said Schneider.
