To the Editor:
I am writing to endorse John Michno who is running for District 15 Legislator in the St. Lawrence County Legislature. District 15 includes Waddington, Louisville and part of Massena. As the Business Agent and President of Teamsters 687 in Potsdam, I am proud to say that John received the unanimous endorsement of the Jefferson, Lewis, and St. Lawrence Counties Central Trades and Labor Council.
John will stand up for all workers and support economic development across the county. As a parent and former school board member, I know how important it is to have intelligent and capable legislators. John has worked for decades as a Counselor at SLL BOCES. His job is literally to listen and problem solve on a daily basis. As a resident of Waddington, I want a legislator who sees all sides of an issue, puts his own opinions aside, and listens to the needs of the voters. That’s exactly what we need in the people who will represent us at the county level. John has stated that he is tired of the partisan actions of the current county board. He wants to bring people together on the issues that we all deal with on a daily basis like filling the gas tank, buying groceries, and keeping our families safe. Do I know how John will vote on every issue, no! I don’t want a legislator who is guaranteed to vote with one side all the time. I want a legislator who will listen to constituents, research the issue, and vote for what is the right thing to do.
When you vote on November 3, please join me in putting the political games aside and let common sense prevail by electing John Michno as District 15 Legislator!
