POTSDAM — Community Health Center of the North Country and The Northern Area Health Education Center (NAHEC), through the Older Adult Rural Support (OARS) program, will host a community roundtable focused on the experiences, needs, and challenges facing older adults in our North Country communities.
The event will take place at Heartwood Hall in Potsdam on Nov. 9 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The venue will provide a welcoming and accessible space for conversation and connection. Dinner and light refreshments will be catered by Big Spoon Kitchen.
The event will bring together community organizations, healthcare providers, local agencies, and other community partners for an open conversation about the issues that impact older adults every day. Topics will include isolation, transportation, technology, workforce, and stigma.
The event will include a panel discussion with leaders in older adult care, followed by dinner and breakout roundtable conversations facilitated by local healthcare professionals. CHCNC and NAHEC hope to use the ideas and experiences shared during the event to better understand local needs, connect existing resources, and identify opportunities for collaboration among organizations and community members.
Community members, older adults, caregivers, service providers, healthcare professionals, and organizations that support older adults are encouraged to attend. Everyone has a perspective that can help shape this conversation, and community members are invited to join us, share their experiences, and help identify ways we can build stronger, more connected communities for older adults.
