CANTON — St. Lawrence County Conservative Party has endorsed Effie Kyriakopoulos for Family Court Judge.

“The candidate for Family Court Judge brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the position,” a press release from the St. Lawrence County Conservative Party said.

She is the past president of the St. Lawrence County Bar Association, and has served on the boards of North Country civic and educational organizations.

Admitted to the New York State Bar in February of 2002, she started as an Assistant District Attorney in St. Lawrence County.

In 2009 she entered private practice, becoming a partner in Snider, Kyriakopoulos & Smith, LLP of Massena. Early 2019, Kyriakopoulos joined the 4th Judicial District of the New York State Unified Court System as a Referee. In this position, she was to preside over custody and family offense cases in St. Lawrence County from preliminary proceedings through final disposition.

In addition, she handled matters in Family Court and Supreme Court for seven counties of the North Country.

“Kyriakopoulos was tasked to shrink the delay in bringing to resolution family cases brought before the court. She succeeded admirably,” said Hank Ford, Chairman of St. Lawrence County Conservative Party.

The new Judge position for which she is a candidate was created by the state to further address the large caseload in family court.

“Her in-depth knowledge of the law relating to family matters will enable her to become effective immediately,” the release said. “The St. Lawrence County Conservative Party is pleased to endorse Effie Kyriakopoulos for the position of Family Court Judge.”
