Young businesspeople to sell their products at Kidpreneurs Marketplace

POTSDAM - Join us for Potsdam’s first Kidpreneur Marketplace on Saturday, Aug. 10 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m., on Market Street.

Kids ages 5-15 will be participating in a vendor style craft fair set up in front of local businesses along Market Street.

Community members and visitors to Potsdam are encouraged to come out and shop and support these young entrepreneurs in this opportunity to launch their very own startup business.

The event is hosted by Second Glance, Consignment and Boutique Store.

Several kid entrepreneurs have already been accepted.

They are categorized by age.

Age group 5 - 7 years old include the following businesses: Sweets & Treats with Ellie - baked goods and cotton candy; Popcorn World - popcorn; and Boba Boi! - Boba Tea.

Age Group 8 - 11 years old includes: Sunshine Squeeze - fresh lemonade; Gnome Better Crafts - crafts; Crochet Frisina's JR Photography - photography pics of Potsdam & nature; C.J. Lure Design - fishing lure creations, earrings & keychains; Keegan's Pokémon Cards - pokémon cards; Simply Ro - handmade crafts; Willa's Stickers - stickers; Crochet For Days - scrunchies & stuffies; Eliza Beads - beaded bracelets, keychains & purses; Gotta Catch Em All - pokémon cards; Elizabeth's Creations - necklaces, rings, bracelets & phone charms.

Age Group 12 - 15 years old includes: Bella's Baked Goods - cookies, oreo balls, chocolate covered strawberries; and Stitch Fished - hand-sewn items.
Prizes will be given out for three age groups; 5 - 7 yrs, 8 - 11 yrs, and 12 - 15 yrs.

Each group will be judged for: Most Original Business Idea, Highest Business Potential, and Best Presentation/ Creativity.

Ellie K Apparel will be set up from 3-4:30 p.m. for a special pop-up shop for the Kidpreneurs to shop from

They will offer deeply discounted items for the kids.

Kids toys, novelties, and accessories ranging from $1 - $5 per item.

There is a $5 booth fee

Only two businesses with the same concept will be accepted.
Sponsors include Acton Academy, the Acton School of Business, and Next Great Adventure and Second Glance.
