Kevin K. Kerr, 57, Massena

MASSENA -- Kevin K. Kerr, age 57, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 26, 2024, at Claxton-Hepburn Hospital.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Phillips Memorial Home in Massena.

Friends and family may be received on Sunday, June 2, 2024, from 2:00 to 4:00pm with a Celebration of Life to immediately to follow at the Massena American Legion Post No. 79.

Kevin was born on March 9, 1967, in Canton, NY the son of Gail Kelsey. He graduated from Lisbon Central School continued his education at RIT, graduating with a Bachelor’s in Computer Science in 1989.

He started substitute teaching around the North Country, and then went on to work at St. Lawrence County BOCES.

During that time he obtained his Masters in Teaching and was continuing his education to obtaining his Doctorate in Education.

He enjoyed working on the side for many people with his IT skills.

He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 79 in Massena, NY.

Kevin was known for his humor, warm smile, and willingness to help out everybody. His passion was education and tried to make an impact everybody that he came in contact with.

He was an animal-lover including his beloved dog, Tucker.

Kevin is survived by his wife, Stacie Strader of Ogdensburg, NY, two stepdaughters, Trista Strader of Ogdensburg, and Simmonét Strader of Long Island, a sister, Sherry Taylor of Massena, cousins, Mike Kelsey of Poughkeepsie, NY, and Wayne Kelsey of Winthrop, NY.
