Jerry J. Wilson, 62, DeKalb

DEKALB - Jerry J. Wilson age 62 of 1391 Maple Ridge Road, passed away on September 28th, 2024 after a long courageous battle with cancer surrounded by his loving wife of 43 years and his two children.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Ann Wilson, a daughter Amanda and Erich Finley of Russell, a son Jeffrey and Nicole Wilson of DeKalb, his grandchildren Victoria Finley, Jeramiah Wilson, Ella Finley, and Jackson Wilson. His siblings, a brother Thomas Wilson of Potsdam, a brother Dale and Sharon Wilson of DeKalb, a sister Cindy and Joe Kelley of DeKalb, a brother Steve and Elizabeth Wilson of Berlin, New Hampshire, and a sister Susan and David Corbine of Canton, several nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces.

Jerry was born on January 4, 1962 in Gouverneur, New York to the late Albert Neil Wilson and Sally Y. Wilson (Besaw). 

Jerry attended Hermon-DeKalb Central School. On May 23, 1982 he married Ann Wilson (Simmons) at the Old DeKalb Methodist Church.

Jerry was a partner on the family farm from 1982 until 1987. He was employed by Heuvelton Whey Plant from 1987 until 2001, Ray Burns Trucking from 2001 until 2008, and Sun Opta from 2008 until 2010.
Jerry was an avid outdoors man. He was either in the woods or on the water with his best friend Donnie Richards. He spent his summers camping with family. He also enjoyed helping his neighbors with various projects. Jerry's favorite past time was spending time with family, and passing down his knowledge, sense of humor, and fiesty spirit to Grampy's Girls, the Old Boy, and My Little Turkey.

There will be a graveside service on Thursday October 3, 2024 at 1:00, with a celebration of life immediately following at Amanda Finley's home, 1455 County Route 17, Hermon. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
