James Emil Pipher Sr., 84, Waddington

WADDINGTON - James Emil Pipher Sr., a cherished father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2024, at the age of 84. Born on October 17, 1939, in Endicott, New York, Jim lived a life marked by dedication and love.

Jim went on to enjoy a distinguished career with IBM. His work at IBM took him all over the world and was a testament to his skill and commitment to excellence.

After leaving IBM Jim spent many years in his next career as an Animal Control Officer in the North Country in Upstate New York.

Jim was raised a Mason at the Round Hill Lodge #533 in Endicott, NY on September 25, 1961.

He was the Master of Waddington Lodge #393 from 2009-2010 and Grand Steward from 2012-2014.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Jim was known for his love of hunting.

He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Esther Pipher, and brother, Daniel Pipher (Carol).

He is survived by his sister Cheryl Scott (Emerson), five children, Cynthia Restino (Joe), David Pipher (Shauna), Valerie Pipher (Chris), James Pipher Jr. (Heather), and William Pipher II (Jaime). He has also left behind ten grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Family gathered for a graveside service held at Riverhurst Cemetery, Endicott, NY.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Masonic Lodge #393, Waddington, NY, a cause that was close to Jim's heart.

Jim's legacy of love, integrity, and generosity will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
