He was predeceased by his parents, John and Jean Osgood, and his son Andrew James “AJ,” who was “always in his daily thoughts, every night in his dreams, and forever in his heart.”

Jim was born on January 9, 1956, in Ogdensburg, a son of John and Jean (Lang) Osgood. He graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy. He married Rosanna (Groulx) on December 18, 2010, who loved him deeply and will miss him for the rest of her life.

Jim worked for the New York State Department of Corrections from 1989 to 2019 as a correctional officer, where he had the honor of serving as an honor guard. Before his time in corrections, he was employed with the USDA, working with animals, and at Standard Shade Roller, where he formed many lifelong friendships.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and trapping with his son AJ, brother Jack, nephews Nathan and Talan, and especially with his uncle Fran Downey. Jim was also known for his love of cooking and grilling for family and friends at gatherings, always aiming to bring joy and flavor to their lives. He cherished the time spent with his Department of Corrections brothers, believing in making their experiences the “Spice of Life.”
