HAMMOND — A horse show for local equestrians, will be held Saturday, Sept. 14 at 9 a.m. as part of the annual Hammond 4-H and FFA Fair which returns to the Hammond Fairgrounds off of Lake Street this Friday and Saturday.
Friday is "school day" and set-up day for the 4-H and FFA members who will be showing their animals and their locally-grown produce in hopes of winning top prize. Judging takes place on Saturday.
Registration for the horse show will begin at 8 a.m. on Saturday. There will be several classes of events plus some fun games for participants to take part in. Registration is free for ages 8-18. Adults may register for $5 per class. Current Coggins and rabies certificates are required to participate.
A tack sale for horse enthusiasts to buy, sell, and trade horse tack will be held after the horse show ends around noon.
