NORFOLK — Restoration of the historic cobblestone arch at Hale Cemetery is tentatively scheduled to begin in fall 2026, with work expected to be completed by the end of the year, according to the Hale Cemetery Association.
The association will continue accepting donations for the arch restoration and preservation of the cemetery’s historic stone walls.
Individuals and organizations donating $500 or more may have their names engraved on a commemorative plaque to be displayed on the cemetery grounds. Names must be submitted by March 2027, and the plaque is scheduled to be ordered April 1, 2027. Its location will be determined after restoration work is completed.
Donations may be made by check payable to Hale Cemetery and mailed to P.O. Box 307, Norfolk, NY 13667. Contributions also may be made through the association’s GoFundMe page at https://www.gofundme.com/f/preserve-history-support-hale-cemetery?cp_src=d
The association said it will provide a project update when restoration work begins. More information is available at halecemetery.org.
