A winter weather advisory is in effect for St. Lawrence County through 7 p.m. today with another round of freezing rain and snow expected, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
Expect hazardous travel conditions for today’s morning and evening commutes, NWS says. Ice accumulations of up to a quarter inches and up to two inches of snow are possible.
This would also increase the risk of power outages due to cumulative ice accumulation on trees and powerlines, the service says.
Rain, snow, freezing rain and sleet are all possible before 4 p.m. today with highs near 35, the service says. Rain should end around 7 p.m. with an overnight low around 29.
The extended forecast through next Thursday is as follows:

A slight chance of rain before 7pm, then a slight chance of snow between 7pm and 8pm. Cloudy, with a low around 29. Northeast wind 3 to 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
